Professional info
Danielle Morabito graduated with honors from the University of Miami in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology. As an undergraduate, Danielle worked as a research assistant in Dr. Kiara Timpano’s Program for Anxiety, Stress, and OCD (PASO). She was also involved in several collaborative projects including work with Dr. Jennifer Britton’s Bridging Research on Anxiety, Innovations, and Neuroscience (BRAIN) Group. Stemming from her interest in anxiety disorders and their impact on quality of life, Danielle conducted an independent research project and honors thesis, which sought to examine the relation between social anxiety, experiences of shame, and interpersonal suicide risk. Meanwhile, Danielle’s interest in substance abuse emerged from her experience as a peer educator for the University of Miami’s alcohol and other drug education program. Currently, Danielle is expanding her research background as the project coordinator for Dr. Kimberly Babson’s clinical trial for veterans with cannabis use disorder and insomnia. In the future, Danielle plans to pursue doctoral studies in clinical psychology.
