One Challenger and One Defender

The simplest form of debate consists of one challenger and one defender. The challenger decides on the topic of the debate and questions the defender. His aim is to get the defender to contradict himself. The defender's aim is to give an answer to every question of the challenger, and to be able to do so quickly. Usually the debates start out quite leisurely, as can be seen in this video. Because this debate took place in our lab, both challenger and defender are wearing an EEG cap with which we recorded their brain waves. A third monk is sitting behind a computer to provide commentary on what is happening to one of the investigators.
